Roberto Capucci, the artist considered by Christian Dior “the best creator of Italian fashion”Francesca
Roberto Capucci is one of those names that few know but that weigh heavily in the history of Italian fashion.
The forbidden fashion, a documentary directed by Ottavio Rosati, intends to recount the extraordinary and unique career of this fashion designer.
Born in 1930, the young Roberto Capucci immediately put on show his talents: he distinguished himself for his particular skill at the artistic high school and at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1950 he opened his first atelier in via Sistina but it was the following year that, in Florence, he officially opened to the public presenting his creations.
He opened another atelier in Rome and his name began to turn in the circles of fashion that counts. Christian Dior in person, even if he does not know him personally, will praise him in 1958 to the journalist who interviewed him for Vogue: “the best creator of Italian fashion“…
