A powerful father-son drama plays out in an impoverished Dutch province of South Limburg, which offers no opportunity for escape.
Fifty-something Lei (Bart Slegers) is a petty criminal barely getting by. His son Jeffrey means everything to him; he is all he has. Jeffrey struggles to live stifled by his father’s suffocating love. The abrasive and realistic style is reminiscent of the Dardenne brothers, who set most of their films just a stone’s throw away.
