A Greek rebellion!
MUSIC – POLITICS – SOCIETY
UNDUE DEBT

Famous musician Vinicio Capossela and award-winning director Andrea Segre (Shun Li and the poet) roam around a bankrupted Greece like flaneurs, following the words, thoughts, and music of rebetiko, the Hellenic folk-blues of outcasts and rebels.
Having grown out of the despair of an older crisis (Greeks fleeing Smyrna) Rebetiko is one of the musical forms that built Greece’s modern identity, conveying both the pain of exile and a sense of rebellion against the violence of history.
